Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Rotate Image and client-side processing.

How do I rotate an image?

Drop your image into the editor, select 90° Left, 90° Right, 180°, or adjust the custom angle slider, then click Rotate Images to download your rotated file.

Can I rotate an image by 90 degrees?

Yes. You can rotate 90° clockwise (Right) or 90° counterclockwise (Left) with a single click. Width and height are automatically transposed.

Can I rotate an image 180 degrees?

Yes. The 180° preset flips your image upside down while preserving original width and height dimensions.

Can I rotate an image by a custom angle?

Yes. You can specify any angle between 0° and 359° using the interactive slider or exact numeric input.

Will rotating change my image dimensions?

For 90° and 270° rotations, width and height swap. For arbitrary angles, the canvas automatically expands to contain the entire rotated image without clipping corners.

Does rotating an image reduce quality?

For 90°, 180°, and 270° orthogonal rotations on PNG, rotation is completely lossless. For arbitrary angles or lossy formats (JPEG/WebP), high-quality browser interpolation renders clean edges.

What happens to transparent PNG or WebP backgrounds?

For PNG and WebP images, newly exposed corner areas outside the rotated image remain fully transparent. For JPEG images, which do not support alpha channels, exposed background areas are filled with solid white.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. All rotation happens locally in your browser using HTML5 Canvas. Your images are never sent to any external server.

Can I rotate multiple images at once?

Yes. You can upload multiple images and rotate them all simultaneously with the same rotation angle in a single batch.

Is the rotate image tool free?

Yes. FILEMORPH's Rotate Image tool is 100% free with no file limits, no registration, and no watermarks.
